Description of position:
Dr. Roni Neff at the Bloomberg School of Public Health seeks a postdoctoral research fellow for a one-year position. Dr. Neff researches wasted food prevention and food rescue from a social science perspective, using mainly qualitative and survey research. The fellow will be part of the National Science Foundation-supported RECIPES food waste research network, which is starting its fifth and final year. Enrichment and additional mentorship will be available through the RECIPES network and the Bloomberg School of Public Health. Remote work is possible.

The fellow’s primary task will be analyzing existing research data and leading/contributing to writing of manuscripts for peer reviewed publication. In addition, the fellow will:
- Communicate about the research and disseminate findings to academic and non-academic audiences;
- Collect and analyze data;
- Perform project management activities including participating in planning, maintaining timelines, grant reporting, and administrative tasks;
- Oversee and mentor project research assistants. Potential to also co-advise student projects (e.g., masters student capstones).
Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Qualitative data analysis skills;
- Knowledge of the U.S. food system, food waste, and/or food banks/pantries;
- Highly organized, flexible, proactive, responsible. Able to work independently.
The following additional qualifications are preferred:
- Research skills in policy evaluation, survey data analysis;
- Experience working with non-academic partners;
- Experience with science communications (e.g., writing research briefs).
